The Science and Technology Diplomatic Circle (S&TDC) Kansai held its year-end review on December 15, bringing together over 40 members, partners, and stakeholders to reflect on a productive year of activities across the region.

UK Consul General Carolyn Davidson addressed the gathering, while Swiss Consul and S&TDC Kansai Chairman Felix Moesner provided a concise summary of the year's accomplishments. The informal setting allowed participants to discuss future initiatives while reconnecting with colleagues from throughout the year.

Throughout 2024, the S&TDC Kansai coordinated 12 programs connecting diplomatic representatives with key players across government, academia, and industry. Site visits included Biocommunity Kansai (BioCK), Nakanoshima Qross (NQ), and tours of leading Japanese firms including Nidec Corporation Global, Sysmex Corporation, Kanadevia Corporation (Hitachi Zosen), and Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

These visits offered diplomatic representatives practical insights into Japan's research and innovation landscape while creating opportunities for meaningful connections between international stakeholders and local organizations. The network has steadily expanded its reach and impact throughout the year.

The gathering served both as a year-end social event and a practical opportunity to exchange ideas about upcoming initiatives for 2025. We thank Consul General Davidson and Dr. Moesner for hosting this year-end event.
