Visit to Sysmex Corporation

On March 26, the Science & Technology Diplomatic Circle Kansai had the privilege of visiting Sysmex Corporation, a global leading company in the healthcare business, headquartered in Kobe. The company, which serves approximately 190 countries and regions, is a leader in the hematology field with extensive expertise in clinical diagnostics. We were warmly welcomed by Mr. Iwane Matsui, Senior Executive Officer and Senior Managing Director, Mr. Shinjirou Akamatsu, Executive Vice President of Global Management Division, and Mr. Hidetaka Ogawa, Vice President of the International Business Management, Global Management Division.

Beginning at 10:00 am, we delved into a comprehensive in-house presentation, outlining Sysmex's history, current work, ongoing projects, and future ambitions. The company's relentless commitment to medical innovation that significantly contributes to improving healthcare was fascinating. Following the presentation, we were taken to the Sysmex's showroom, where we were offered an overview of the company's milestones. Showcased there were the technologies and blood testing machines the company had developed and improved throughout the years.

The visit concluded with a demonstration of the state-of-the-art surgical robot named "hinotori", developed by Medicaroid which was founded as a joint venture of Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Sysmex. Our delegation sincerely appreciates the hospitality extended by Sysmex and for providing us with significant insights into their innovative healthcare solutions and endeavors.
