On April 25, the Science & Technology Diplomatic Circle Kansai visited the Osaka Gas Carbon Neutral Research Hub (CNRH). The CNRH is leading the charge in carbon-neutral technologies, and through collaborations within the Daigas Group and other alliance partners, they are targeting complete carbon neutrality by 2050.
As we converged at the Osaka Gas Energy Technology Research Center’s main gate, we were greeted by Mr. Takayuki Asakura, Director, SOEC Methanation Development Division. Understanding the significance of Osaka Gas's activities, he initiated the program with a briefing about their dedicated focus on the reduction of CO2 emissions and the strategies they have adopted towards this end. We were then offered a tour of the Carbon Neutral Research Center. The visit offered the delegation a rare opportunity to witness the state-of-art experimental facilities
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session hosted by Mr. Motoyuki Hirabayashi, Senior General Manager, Energy Resources, and Carbon Neutral Business Department. It served as an engaging platform for delegates to fathom the depth of the efforts being adopted towards achieving carbon neutrality.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Consul General Jason Cubas (USA), Consul James Hathaway and Naomi Shibui for their great efforts in coordinating this visit.
