METI Briefing on Innovation from Director General Yoichi Hosokawa
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Kansai hosted a Briefing on Innovation for the S&T Diplomatic Circle Kansai, attended by twenty consular colleagues, organized by Kazusue Konoike, Honorary Consul of Tanzania.
METI Director General Yoichi Hosokawa presented on “Toward the Future of Kansai Economy: Initiatives to Support Innovation”. Attendees learned of METI’s mission and organization in Kansai, its innovation policy in Japan, the Base for Innovation in Kansai, the METI Initiatives to support innovation and Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai. Participants received fresh updates regarding METI’s innovation-related activities in Kansai, and the event was coordinated by Kazusue Konoike, Honorary Consul of Tanzania and Vice-Dean of the Kansai Consular Corps.
Overall, the briefing provided an excellent opportunity for the S&TDC Kansai to gain new insights and understanding about innovation initiatives in Kansai.
